18th October 2020 – Lower Barn Farm

It had been a long wait – and Sunday we returned to volunteering, at beautiful Dedham Vale. It was great to visit Lower Barn Farm, and kick off with classic SNTV work – cutting things down! We worked to clear out an area that should be a drainage ditch, but had become overgrown largely with blackthorn. We made great inroads which – with further work – will enable more beneficial hedgerow to establish, and support more wildlife.

Our additional safety measures worked really well, and the success of the task will hopefully open up more opportunities for us. Thanks Dave and Matt for welcoming us back safely, and thanks to all volunteers for the hard work and enthusiasm!
