18th December 2016 – Dedham Hall Farm

We had a good turnout for our last task of the year at Dedham Hall Farm. The job for the day was to cutback the ever-encroaching blackthorn and hawthorn at the edge of one of the fields, and to remove the collapsed willows. As usual, everyone worked hard to quickly take the growth back to the fence line, and over the course of the day we almost completed the whole stretch. Team Craske built a great bonfire which, once it got going, quickly burnt up all the brash and wood, leaving little trace of what was there except the darkened edges of the field and a big pile of ashes!

This was also our “Christmas Do”, and we were treated to a feast comprised of sausages, cakes, and sweets! Thanks to Adam and Miles for cooking and serving up the sausages and mulled wine, and to Lewis for providing them. Also thanks to Jess for making the sweets.

Well done everyone for your hard work on this task, and also thank you to everyone who has come out on tasks this year. You have all made a fantastic contribution to looking after the various National Trust sites in the area.
