15th September 2019 – Flatford Mill
Our annual task of clearing the Mill Pond of overgrowth was a great success, with large amounts of reed mace and other vegetation removed. The objective – to restore the pond to best meet its appearance in the famous painting ‘The Hay Wain’ was met – by a lot of wet and muddy volunteers! Fortunately the weather was so nice that a dip in the pond was actually quite pleasant, and we were also able to tackle some additional jobs on site. Thanks and well done to everyone for the hard work achieved. The many visitors to the property from around the world will really appreciate our contribution!
