23rd February 2020 – Dunwich Heath

‘Us hardy few’ (including Judith!) travelled to an extremity of our patch, for a task at Dunwich Heath. Despite some heavy showers and strong winds, we made a big impact on a small patch of the Heath, removing invasive small trees.

The weather was unsuitable for a bonfire, which meant all ten of us could all get stuck into the task of clearance. Working with the Ranger – Lloyd, and two of his team – we were able to get a lot of trees pulled up, ready to be dragged to the fire┬ásite at Mount Pleasant Farm in the week.

Aches and pains by the end of the task, but we emerged largely unscathed, just with a few tools set for the scrap metal bin.

Thanks everyone for your hard work and commitment to the cause!
