4th December 2022 – Danbury Common

We returned to Danbury Common for our task this week and thankfully this time the day although very cold, was dry and we were able to work with the ranger Matt in helping him to cut back and burn a large area of gorse and unwanted saplings . We managed to burn all that we cut down and also a lot that had been previously cut.
The bonfire was very welcome on such a cold day!
Our hard work appeared to make only a small impact to the area of scrubland but hopefully with our planned return visits next year we will be able to see the difference we are helping to make.
Many thanks for all the hard work put in and for those who contributed to the album.
