8th March 2020 – Danbury Common
Great to be back at Danbury and working with Ranger Alex again!
We are helping to improve the balance of plants on the Common, which meant tackling gorse this time. We targeted several areas where the shrub had really established, liberating two oak trees in the process! it was slightly unfortunate to burn so many lovely yellow flowers, however lots were saved as they can be made into capers, and tea!
The weather was kind to us, but did test us once with a short, windy shower. As usual, no match for the bonfire team though!
Thanks for the hard work everyone – it was really impressive how much we got cleared today!
