17th July 2016 – Bridges Farm

On a very hot day, a smaller group of us than usual worked at Bridges Farm in Dedham to give the barns a new coat of paint. We first had to clear the nettles and bits of farmyard debris from around the edges, and then got stuck into a bit of painting! At first glance, the barns didn’t really look in need of painting, but it was definitely possible to tell the difference afterwards, and of course it’s an important job to do in order to keep the barns in good condition.

Some of the group also worked to clear a patch of unwanted tree growth elsewhere within the yard, uncovering a large piece of tarpaulin in the process!

For our lunch, we were treated to a barbecued burgers and sausages. Thank you to Adam for his hard work in organising and cooking! Unfortunately I didn’t manage to get any photos of this due to having paint all over my hands!
