6th November 2016 – Pin Mill

A return to Pin Mill to continue the coppicing we started on the August bank holiday. Everyone worked hard cutting down more trees and processing them – cutting the trunks into approx 4ft lengths to be used for firewood that will be sold at a later date, and burning the crown and smaller sections. In addition, a big hole was cut in the gorse bordering this area of trees. Fortunately the sheltered location kept the wind off, and the fire and the work helped to keep us warm!

As usual with this sort of task, it can be a little difficult to see the difference between “before” and “after” in some of the photos, but as always, a lot of work was done today. Well done everyone!
