20th November 2022 – Pin Mill

For our task this week we returned to Pin Mill to work alongside Ranger Dave Mason. We started the day in the heathland area gathering and piling up previously cut gorse from two sites moving it away from the fence  line. Dave is planning to mow the heathland and needed space to dump  the cuttings. We then moved onto the woodland area where we helped to construct and place some caged areas around fragile oak saplings hoping to protect them and encourage them to grow and thrive.
The day started out somewhat miserable and wet but eventually the weather improved and the sun came out! So many thanks to the small group for their hard work and for the photos contributed  to the album.
